‘Gitting Gud’ With the Chloranthy

If you’re not a gamer you probably haven’t been immersing yourself in the newest, and most popular, game on the market. I’m referring to Elden Ring, a spectacularly gorgeous world filled with unforgiving ambiguity and an equal amount of abysmally morose emotion. Many of these atmospheric themes can be found in the predecessors of the...

Getting the Low Down with Josh De La Sol

The Last Of Lucy hails from California and is a force to be reckoned with to be blunt. The Technical Death Metal act has just released their album ‘Moshka’ via Transcending Obscurity Records and it immediately hits your ears like a intergalactic cannon. The album blossoms chills through your spine as the riffs soar. Vocally, Josh De La Sol isn’t messing around on this one. Bringing range that could only be hit by this man, if he’s even human of course. If you haven’t heard this modern masterpiece, I personally recommend that you pause your reading and play that album, and then continue reading. Being a fan of of this band, I will go there and say this is their best work to date. I couldn’t help but reach out to Josh (vocals) and see what his take was about ‘Moshka’.

Interviews from the Pit: Basilica

Oh yes, it is that time again my friends. Time for another interview from the pit! This time around, fellow contributor Scott Coonan and myself got to sit down for a beer and some great hangs with North Carolina Thrashcore powerhouse Basilica. The band released an absolutely mind-blowing debut full length back in February and...

Local Limelight: Tanner Poppitt of Madrost

Nearing the end of high school in Orange County, my friends would always talk about this band Madrost and how many times they’ve smoked with them before a show. One day after school they showed me the band’s classic headbanger: Zombie Grinder, and from then on I was a fan. I never got to catch...

In The Mind of Defeated Sanity: Q’s with Lille Gruber

Music should be more important than travelling, chicks, drugs, alcohol, or whatever… When doing this stuff. I can also truly say that I sincerely enjoy the company of the 2 remaining guys in the band and hope we can find a perfect guitarist that fits in nicely with our little group.

Let’s Talk Metal: Daniel Cece of Krosis

The Unique Leader roster has been putting out some especially eclectic styles of brutality as of late. One of which most worthy of mentioning is “A Memoir of Freewill” by the North Carolina Progressive Deathcore act Krosis, a beautifully crafted test of one’s musical psyche in it’s own right. Just before the start of the...

Talking Gross With Ernie Fonseca!

For those who live outside of Mohave County, specifically Kingman, AZ, normal people just think it’s an old gold mining town that truck drivers stop to catch some rest. The town to the humble folks who live there can really see how fast things are changing and growing for them, but let’s dig a little...
