Goatwhore LiveScreamStream

The setting, ESI Audio, Tampa FL….the band, Goatwhore…..the stakes, high! Like several live streamed bands before them, they were unaccustomed to playing to fans who were not there. The sensation of playing to a full house that was not physically present was a new sensation for the band but one that was not about to slow them down.
Before the show even began, ticket holders and free loaders watching the live stream with their friends had the chance to purchase exclusive merch from Goatwhore’s Inferno Merch webstore, open till January 20th. Exclusive shirts and hoodies done by Misanthropic Art Illustrations will be available till then.

‘The All Destroying’ track kicked off this live stream concert. If there were a crowd in this virtual audience, they would’ve most certainly, immediately torn eachother apart.

I’ve covered less than a handful of band streams thus far but Goatwhore holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been a fan ever since my fashionably late induction to the band at the age of 18 with the 09′ release of Carving Out the Eyes of God. We all have those bands who have molded our adolescence and Goatwhore is one of those artists for me. The quartet consists of vocalist Ben Falgoust, guitarist Sammy Duet, drummer Zach Simmons, and bassist Robert “Trans Am” Coleman.

This 90 minute concert was something I’d longed for and even though it were not in person I know that if we continue to support our bands they’ll most certainly still be here for us once this clusterfuck of a lockdown ends. And speaking of endings, they ended their streamed set with Apocalyptic Havoc, one of my all-time favorite metal songs.

Shortly after, they brought out “mom’s casserole dish” with a buncha names in it from the people who purchased tickets by midnight January 7th. Four lucky winners were drawn and set to receive exclusive boxes with all kinds of cool Goatwhore shit inside.

Seeing the brutality that is Goatwhore, even on screen, is exactly what so many of us have been longing for this past year. I only hope more metal bands decide to follow suit during this most unmetal of lockdowns. As long as we have eachother to lean on in the international metal scene we will never fucking falter nor fail. We just take it one online concert at a time!
Aside from this livestream, Goatwhore reflected upon their old van tour days as far back as December 15, 2019, the longest span they’ve ever gone without touring. The very musk from the tour van is now a nostalgic aroma to the band.

They love playing live and this lockdown has been a real cockblock. It’s my hope that they and all other musical artists may return to some semblance of normality, but until then, the best we can do is support our artists in these most unmetal of times. Till then, lets just continue to fuckin’ rock, whether it’s in a pit or your living room. Just keep on keepin’ on \m/
Fuck yeah!š
